Project summary

The Knowledge Economy Indicators project is funded by and conducted on behalf of the Department of Science and Technology. It involves field application of measurement instrument and production of technology balance of payments (TBP) reports for official and other uses at agreed intervals. Long-term institutional capacity is therefore required to carry out this work. The DST will require this service by CeSTII over a long time into the future. Once the work for measuring TBP data has started, CeSTII will undertake further work, for instance, policy briefs, publications and international benchmarking. The methodologies used will be subject to regular process reviews.
